Smart Home Office Design Merges Pleasing Aesthetics with Perfect Ergonomics

There is nothing like having an office that is pretty much a few seconds away from where you live and allows you to stay away from that rush hour grid lock and ensures you would not have to spend hours stuck in traffic after a long day’s work. Of course, the ideal solution for that is a home office and while it might not be an option for everyone, the trend seems to be catching on quickly.

When Country Living Magazine decided to create the ideal home office for their House of the Year project, they approached designer Barbara Kurgan and interior experts Shauna Alterio and Stephen Loidolt from somethingshidinginhere. After plenty of careful planning and checking out loads of inspiring ideas, this is what they came up with.

The home office was designed for a modern working couple and hence it has design elements that are a merger of both masculine and feminine shades. The work desk is elevated to counter-height to ensure that there is more movement around instead of spending plenty of hours just seated. The lovely little touch comes with a big roll of Kraft paper that is attached at the end of the dual desk so that those working can always scribble down ideas at any instance.

The idea is to create not just a work station here but also an entire room that offers those working a chance to relax as well. The designers incorporated shelves that can be quickly tucked away and a small dining space that is otherwise hidden beautifully. A plush pink couch, cowhide rug and a vintage print of Lincoln make up the more casual area of the work space where one can simply kick back and take a few moments off.

Corner storage units that help put away the unnecessary, a bulletin board, beautiful wall décor in the form of creative wallpaper and smart lighting complete the home office plan. A wonderful and inclusive blueprint for anyone looking to create an exclusive home office space of their own.
