Wiesergut Design Hotel: Modern Minimalism Amidst Majestic Austrian Ski Slopes

Europe is home to some of the grandest winter holiday destinations in the world and the Alps obviously provide the picture-perfect setting for a snow-capped and fun-filled vacation. That is all the more true if you are a skiing enthusiast and the amazing ski slopes of Saalbach-Hinterglemm in Austria offer a chance for an ideal family celebration.

At the heart of it all is Wiesergut Design Hotel, which seems to be as charming, if not more, than the grand natural setting that it sits in.

The main structure of the hotel is a four-story house from the 14th century and most of its classical design and aura is preserved despite a modern makeover all around it. The project which saw an addition of modern units and garden suites around the main structure was apparently undertaken by Monika Gogl of Gogl & Partner Architect and they seem to have done a stunning job as an innate sense of minimalism, simplicity and class oozes through the entire hotel.

The extensive use of glass in the form of floor-to-ceiling glass windows has meant that the suites have a nice and airy feel and give you an unabated view of the lovely surroundings. The snow-laden slopes become a natural visual extension of your interiors as they are always in view and yet you are protected from the harsh elements and draped in lavish comforts thanks to the ergonomic décor and modern furnishings.

The clean and well defined look gives the hotel a very contemporary atmosphere, while the indoor pool, the gorgeous lighting and plush bedroom and lounge areas ensure that your stay here is both opulent and relaxing. Stylish, sleek and yet sporting an old-world charm, this is one hotel you might want to consider paying a visit to on your next skiing trip!
